Samantha gets married!

Steve's littlest sister, Samantha was married to Jon Hastings this last Saturday. It was beautiful and we had such a fun weekend with them and everyone coming into town for the wedding.

This was a great day for the Larsen's-their last child to be married and all 5 kids married in the temple. What great parents (and in-laws!)

Steve's brother Keith, and his wife Jenny stayed with us which was so much fun. They brought their youngest, Josh, who is 9 days younger than Davis. They were so cute together-following each other around the house and playing really well together. We loved having them visit as well as Stacy and Michelle. So much fun to get to spend time together. We love you all and feel the void now that everyone has gone back to their respective far away homes!

Warm Weather

Can I just say I love the weather today? I will take 50 degrees anytime. I feel like we have been in a deep freeze forever and I am so happy to be able to go outside without a coat and see the sun (and all the snow melting:). I know it is supposed to snow again tomorrow, but I have been enjoying today so much!

Go Jazz!

So I love the Jazz! The last couple of years I have become a huge Jazz fan...when Steve worked for Modern Display, they had great tickets and we got to go to a lot of games, which made it so much fun. I gained a huge appreciation for the team and the game and now I am an addict. We had a lot of fun at the game on Monday night with the Larsens (thanks again Jill). The beginning of the season this year wasn't so great, but can I just say that 10 straight wins is pretty good! We have finally started to win on the road and the win against the Nuggets in overtime last night was just really great. I also have to say that Korver was such a great trade. So glad to have him and his awesome 3 pointers. We were glued to the T.V. and I just can't get enough. Keep up the good work, Jazz!!

President Hinckley

I stole this picture from my friend Sharon's blog since I was too lazy to find my own-but I love it! They have got to be the cutest couple. We tried to go to President Hinckley's viewing on Friday, but waited until the afternoon and after waiting in line for over 2 hours and the wait was about another 2 hours, we had to leave before we got to see him. It was incredible the amount of people that were there to pay their final respects to their prophet. After watching President Hinckley's funeral yesterday I have been thinking incessantly about him and my feelings for him and the gospel. I just feel so blessed and lucky to have lived at the time that he served as the prophet of our church. What an incredible man and an incredible example he has set. As we watched the funeral yesterday I just thought about how amazing his commitment to the Lord and the gospel was. Although he was not a martyr for the church, he truly gave his life for it and to it. He did so many incredible things during his time as prophet. 50 temples dedicated in one year, not to mention many many many other things. Amazing. He is an example to me as I strive to be more dedicated and commited to my beliefs. President Hinckley truly was the prophet of God and I love him, respect him, and am so thankful to Heavenly Father for the time we had to learn from him. He will be greatly missed.

Why I love JulieKaye

If you don't know who JulieKaye is, you should! Not only is she one of my dearest friends, she is a miracle worker! On Tuesday I made the trek down to Orem so she could work her magic on my hair. All I have to say is bless her. Since I went short (as in short hair), I have realized that the usual 8 weeks between getting my hair done is too long and I was going crazy because I can't pull my hair up when it is short but too grown out and driving me nuts. Anyway, I know that no one really cares about my hair woes besides me, but I just have to say I am so grateful for a fabulous hair dresser (and more importantly, friend) who I love for many many reasons! Isn't is nice to go get your hair done and just feel pampered? Love it. As JulieKaye says, you wear your hair everyday. It is your most important accessory and you need to feel good about how it looks!! I think those are good words of wisdom!

A gross story

This actually happened a couple of weeks ago, but I just remembered and it made me giggle to myself so I had to post it! Most of you know I am somewhat of a germ freak. Well, that makes my job as a mom a little difficult sometimes. So my little brother, Jonah, was in town visiting and we were all over at my parents playing Pounce (our favorite card game of all time). Davis was playing on the floor and enjoying himself, and I'll admit we weren't paying much attention to him because our game was really intense and we were super into it. In between hands, I look around to see where Davis is. Well, he was sitting only a few feet away on the kitchen floor, happily munching on the dog's nasty, slobbery, chewed up bones. He had one in each hand and was just happy as a clam, chomping away on them. GROSS! I can't think of many nastier things. Everyone wanted to take a picture of him eating the dog bones, but I couldn't let him have them for one more second, so I immediately took them away and washed out his mouth, as if that might help. So, no picture. But it was pretty hilarious. I guess I need to pay more attention to my kid!

First Word!!

This is an exciting day for the speech pathologist in me! People keep asking me if Davis is walking (he isn't yet). I don't really care so much about when he walks as I do about talking! I think today we had our first real word. He was at Grandma and Grandpa Wright's last night and my Dad told us when we picked him up that he kept going over to their dog's kennel and saying 'dog'. I didn't really believe it until I heard it today so I had to get it on video! I am also pretty sure he said 'uh oh' yesterday after I said it. Oh, the excitement! We are going to have to start building his vocabulary immediately! He is sure to be a language over-achiever! Steve always jokes about how Davis is in speech-pathology boot camp.
