2012 Presidential Election

The presidential election has been a big part of lives lately.  Steve was pretty much obsessed with FOX news and keeping up on everything to do with the campaigns.  I took Davis with me to vote and it was really neat to start teaching him about our political system and how important it is to vote.  I was so grateful to be able to vote for Mitt Romney.  It was incredible to me that there was a candidate that I was able to believe in so much.  I felt that there was so much hope for our country with him.  We are still in mourning around here that he didn't win.  It was so disappointing....but...we will continue to have hope and work hard to make our country great.                      

Louisville Half Marathon

I ran the Louisville half marathon-it was my first time running this race and my first time running a race in November.  The weather was terrible.  I was pelted in the face with freezing rain for several miles.  It took me about 4 hours and a really long, really hot shower to get warm again.   I went with a bunch of girls that I work out with at the YMCA.  I finished in 1:52.46 (8:36 miles)...a PR for me and I was so excited.  I want to keep working on my speed!

This girl is a serious mess maker.  peanut butter was a bad idea and my favorite part was that she wanted to play play doh after she was done eating this.  There is a limit to the messes I can handle in one day!!

Fall Soccer 2012

Davis finished another season of fall soccer.  Of course I didn't take my camera until the last game and it was bad weather so they played at the indoor arena.  So, these pictures aren't very representative of the outdoor season, but I guess they are better than nothing!  He was on a team with Josh, as well as Sarah and Mallory from our ward.  Sadly, Mallory and Sarah didn't make it to this game so I don't have any pictures of the 4 of them playing together.  They had a great time being on the same team and it was fun for the parents to get to hang out twice a week!  Davis was the biggest kid on his team and probably in the whole 4-5 year old age group.  In the team picture he is at least a head taller than anyone else on the team.  He looks huge!  We heard several comments about why was he playing down an age group?  I forget how big he is for his age until I see him around other kids his age.  Funny. Anyway, he played really well this season.  I think he made a goal in every game and it was usually more than one.  

Halloween

Yes, I may be biased, but these kids have to be some of the cutest I have ever seen!!  We had a great Halloween trick or treating in our neighborhood and having some friends over for dinner after.  It was FREEZING but the kids still had fun and got plenty of candy.  Even Ivy was a trooper in the cold.

Halloween Festivities

Haloween week never disappoints.  We went to a bunch of parties, collected more candy than anyone needs and had a ton of fun with our friends.  I think I enjoy Halloween as much as the kids!  There is just something about (kids:) dressing up and getting to party for a week that is so great.

Here is a post of random pictures...

Ivy enjoying her first taste of Olive Garden.  She got more breadstick on the floor than in her mouth, but she thoroughly enjoyed what made it in! 

It is always fun to go in Emery's room after she has fallen asleep and see what craziness she has been up to.  Asleep in her laundry basket. 

More night time antics...asleep dressed up in one of my workout tops that she got out of the laundry closet.  At least it was clean! 

It has gotten really cold the last couple of weeks (or rather it gets cold then warms up, back and forth!).  I forgot what a pain car seats and coats are.  Good thing the baby is cute no matter what!  Always so smiley. 

I got to volunteer at the kindergarten pumpkin day at Davis' school.  He was super excited I was there and it was so fun to see him in his school environment with his friends.  I had a really good time playing games with all the kids, too. Kindergartners are the best!

We had a little post gym lunch date at the Chick-fil-a with Cynthia and Kennedi.  Could these two be any cuter?!  They are the cutest little friends I have ever seen and just love to be together.  I love it!!

Crazy Hair Day

During Red Ribbon Week at school, Davis had his first crazy hair day.  I hate dressing up and it made me uncomfortable for him to send him off to school with crazy hair or socks, or whatever!  Silly, I know, because he thought it was so fun and had such a fun week.  I guess I will have to get over my own insecurities one way or another! 

Redneck Movie Night

We were supposed to go to the outdoor movie night at the zoo, but there was a rain forecast (it didn't end up raining, of course!).  We decided to have a movie night in our garage instead.  Steve laid out carpet from his work, we set up the projector, got some snacks, invited some friends and had a super fun night.  We felt a little redneck but it was a good time and the kids loved it!

Autumn in Kentucky is SO Beautiful!  I took this picture on our way home a couple of days ago on Rollington, the street behind our neighborhood.  It is my favorite place to run and this time of year, just amazing. 

We decorated our pumpkins this year...I am not a big fan of carving, but I think I might be depriving my children of an important Halloween tradition so we might bust the knives out next year.  I don't want them to be scarred over pumpkin carving because I didn't want the mess:)

Soccer Kids

Emery wants to do everything that Davis does...including wear soccer gear!  This girl loves to dress up in anything.  She has been a trooper hanging out at the soccer field during practices and games this season.  I am pretty sure she will want to play next year, especially if Davis is playing!

On The Move

Ivy is constantly on the move these days.  She has the army crawl down to an art and can usually be found under the kids chairs eating the remnants of their last meal.  I swear I sweep up the floor about 3 times a day but she still manages to find gross things to put in her mouth and munch on.  She is very interested in the stairs and a couple of times Emery has followed me downstairs without shutting the door and I have returned to find Ivy perched over the top step.  I am scared to death she is going to take a tumble one of these days.  It is hard to keep a moving baby safe with a two year old around! 

This girl will put anything in her mouth!  Leaves, dirt, crumbs, you name it, she will try to eat it!

This is Ivy with her cute friend Charlotte.  Charlotte's mom was my visiting teacher when they were born, about 3 weeks apart.  They have a good time playing together during primary.
