Happy 5th Birthday, Davis!

Our big boy turned 5 on December 15th. Crazy! I think he had a good birthday week-he sure was excited! On his big day we went to dinner at Red Robin and then had cake with The Larsens afterwords. He finally got to open his presents-I put them out in the morning and it was a long day looking at those wrapped presents! He was the most excited to get some new lego sets and has been building legos non stop ever since.

We had a 'soccer' birthday party with about 13 of his friends. It was ultra chaotic but I think the kids had fun! Unfortunately I was too busy during the party to get any pictures of the activities, but here are a few from cake and presents..

Our Santa Visit 2011

My work hosts a Breakfast with Santa every year so I took the kids to see the big guy. He is seriously the best Santa ever. Davis was so excited to see him and let him know that he has been good this year (still up for debate..)

Happy Thanksgiving

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house for the first time ever...I tend to stress out a little bit about such things so I avoid them, but this year it was our turn so I did what any good hostess would do-I assigned out the majority of the dishes to our guests to bring! It worked out pretty well I have to say! My first ever turkey turned out just fine and we had tons of great food and of course so much to be grateful for. We were especially grateful for the Larsen's and the Bloods for spending Thanksgiving with us. Although you can't tell from the sad lack of pictures, there were adults in attendance and we had a great day. Of course Jenny, Cynthia and I followed up Thanksgiving day by staying up all night shopping the black Friday sales. Probably not the best idea for a pregnant lady but we had such a good time I couldn't pass it up. I was only sick for a couple of days after!

We were able to go see Davis sing in his preschool Thanksgiving Program. This kid knows every word of every song and sings his little heart out. I love it!

San Antonio Trip

I was able to tag along on a little business trip of Steve's to San Antonio at the beginning of November. It was a pretty quick trip, but really nice to get away and have some down time.

We were able to go to the Alamo and some other missions around the city. The Alamo was really cool to see and funny how it is right in the middle of the city!

Sorry for the bad iphone pic but we did get to go with Steve's clients and coworker Marty and his wife Rebecca to the River Walk and have an amazing dinner. I think San Antonio is one of the coolest down towns I have been to. So unique!

Happy Halloween!

We had such a fun Halloween. I think the kids seriously collected about 8 pounds of candy. So much fun trick or treating with our cousins and neighbors.

Emery was priceless this year. I couldn't get enough of her in this costume. Those antennas never stopped moving! She finally learned to say 'trick treat' today just in time to go out and get some candy. She wanted to go up to every house!

I was a little lazy this year-usually I make the kids costumes and have them match but I just didn't get to it this time so Davis got to be whatever he wanted and Mario it was. He loved it, so that is what matters, right?!

Emery's bag got so heavy she couldn't carry it so we emptied both her and Davis' bags into the stroller basket. She had caught the vision and was trick or treating from the stroller, too.

Halloween Festivities

Whew, we are exhausted from our Halloween activity filled weekend!

Our pediatrician's office hosts an amazing party every year. Tons of free stuff...right up our alley! They have lunch, trick or treating, games, prizes, the most amazing balloon making guy, face painting, etc.

The balloon man made him this shark hat. It was seriously amazing. I wanted to stand and watch him make stuff all day!

Our neighborhood has a costume parade following a fire truck around the neighborhood with pizza and treats after. I'm not sure why Davis looks so ticked in this picture!
Oh, the ward Halloween party. Mass chaos but I think the kids had fun! I didn't get a picture of Davis here...he was too busy playing games and getting candy, but Emery and Kennedi had a good time kicking back on some drinks and hanging out together!

Davis Soccer Fall 2011

Davis played soccer with the YMCA this fall. This was his first season playing games and he did such a great job. This kid is a soccer animal! He seriously loved it and couldn't wait for practice and his games. He was the biggest kid on his team and probably the fastest, too. He made a few goals during the season, one of them in the first game. We were really proud of him for working so hard, making a lot of progress, learning to play with his team, and his great attitude! This soccer season also taught us how competitive Davis' mom is...I am going to have to watch myself as he gets into more competitive sports! I will be honest...I really wanted them to win every game and I would get so frustrated when the team was struggling. I know, I know they are 4 years old. I'm working on it. Anyway, Davis is playing indoor soccer starting this week so hopefully he will continue to love it!

Preschool Field Trip

Davis' preschool goes on a field trip every year to Ms. Martha's (one of the women that works at the preschool) farm. They have a tractor ride then eat lunch, have games, and pick a pumpkin from her patch. We had a great time...okay I am going to take that back...taking Emery to these things is not so fun for me right now! She was not her best self and when we got home I was completely exhausted! Anyway, I think Davis had a great time and it is fun to see him with his school friends and cute cute teacher.
