Grandma Lindsay

We were able to spend some time with my Grandma Lindsay which was so much fun!  The kids loved her and couldn't get enough of her and I was so happy that they were able to have some quality time with her.  She came and spent the night at my parents house one night while we were there and we were also able to go to lunch with her while we were down in Provo.   Thank you for making time for us Grandma.  We love you so much!

Future Cougars

I have to make the trek to BYU every time we go to Utah so I can indoctrinate the children.  We get yummy BYU creamery ice cream, buy new hats at the book store, you know, all the things that should influence a child to want to go to a college for the right reasons.  Whatever it takes.  I did not take any good pictures while we were there for some reason, but here is the sad selection of what I have...

I sure do love this place.  I love being on campus...I can't believe how nostalgic it makes me!  I loved my BYU days and it is so good to go there and re-live it every once in awhile. 

Sunday evening with the Larsens

This was a fun, relaxing Sunday evening with Grandpa and Grandma Larsen and the Hastings.  It makes me so sad that Samantha's kids are so far away so it was really fun for Davis and Emery to get to play with Andrew and Alivia while we were visiting.  They had a great time with squirt guns (and make shift squirt guns, ie: febreeze bottles, since there weren't enough to go around!).  We also had a really nice dinner and just enjoyed spending time together.                             

Love my Aunts and Uncles

I am so lucky to have fun, amazing aunts and uncles.  We were able to get together with my Aunt Rhonda and Uncle Don, and my Aunt Donelle and Uncle A.L. as well as a few of my cousins.  It was so good to see them and I am grateful that they would take the time to come see us.  Love them all!

We love the mountains

We went hiking with Grandpa Blake and Grandma Janie to Donut Falls.  The kids did great and made it the whole way.  After our hike we had a picnic at Silver Lake.  One of the things I miss the most about Utah is the mountains.  They are just so beautiful and there is nothing like being up there.  This was one of our fist days of our trip and the kids asked to go hiking almost every day after that.  I think they had a good time!

The next few posts are of our trip to Utah this summer.  Steve was traveling for work for over a month so the kids and I made the trek to Utah (I survived flying with all 3 kids by myself:) and had a great time visiting our family and friends for a couple of weeks.  Steve came the last 4 days so it was fun to have some time with him there also.

4th of July dinner

Indy children's museum

Since we spent the 4th of July in Indy with Steve I got super brave and took the kids to the Indy children's museum the next day. I had heard how amazing it is and have wanted to go for a long time. It was great and the kids loved it. Let's just say it was super busy-I guess the day after a holiday isn't the best choice! We survived about 6 hours (I was determined to get my money's worth!). The kids thought it was fabulous and I was just happy we made it without any major melt downs-me or the kids!

Our 4th of July

 

Steve was working in Indianapolis over the 4th of July so we decided to go up there and hang out with him for the holiday.  We stayed in his hotel with him (Emery and hotels=my least favorite thing ever!), went to dinner (we got our dinner for free because it was so slow...our kids were bouncing off the restaraunt by the time they ate at 8:30pm!)  and watched fireworks in downtown Indianapolis.  Notice how red the kids faces are...it was really that hot!

 Ivy was a good sport even with the heat and the late hour.  She is the best baby ever. 

Some cute little girls gave the kids glow bracelets while we were waiting for the fireworks to start.  They had so much fun with them and thought they were the coolest things ever!  It's the little things, I guess! 

We had a fun time and most of all are so grateful for the country we live in.  We are so blessed to have the freedoms that we enjoy and I am so glad that we could celebrate this together as a family.
