My Cute Crazies!

Here are some of my first pictures with the new camera. Like I said, I have no idea what I am doing but I am amazed how beautiful the pictures come out just in auto mode. Happy Day!! I might turn over a new leaf and actually start recording my childrens lives!

They are playing hide and seek. Awesome hiding spot, huh? Davis still yells 'here I am!' whenever someone is looking for him. I keep explaining that he doesn't want to be found and he keeps not listening!

Sweet baby kisses. And yes, I do realize she has the worst hair ever. Steve keeps saying the only thing she got from him was his hairline. Lucky girl. This is why she almost always has a headband on.

Baby Food

I spent a few hours yesterday making baby food for Emery. This was my first attempt and I have to say I just felt super earthy! My mom and Christie will be so proud! Emery had her first taste of sweet potatoes today and she didn't spit it out, so I must have done an ok job!

Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas to Me!

For the past year and a half...maybe longer...I have been saving my pennies. For birthdays and Christmas I just asked for $$ and have slowly saved. Finally, the day of my big purchase has arrived and I am so excited! Here she is in all her glory...

I have no idea how to use this baby yet, but I am slowly working on the manual and hope to take a class or two to learn some basics (or mooch some tips off of some very talented friends...aka Jamie and Michele). So far, I have gotten the software downloaded to my computer and can use 'auto shoot'. I'm on my way!

Emery is 6 months old!

Emery turned 6 months old a couple of weeks ago. She had her checkup today and here are her stats:
Weight: 15 lbs 16.5 oz (30th %tile
Height: 26 3/4 inches (77th %tile)
Head: 17 inches (65th %tile)
She is rolling all over the place-she can get around a whole room by rolling and she is starting to get her legs under her like she might decide to crawl soon. Not too soon, I hope. The same week she turned 6 months, she sprouted her 2 bottom teeth. They are sharp and she knows how to use them!! She is babbling a lot and making lots of noise. She has started saying 'ga ga ga' and 'ma ma ma'. She is sleeping at least 10 hours at night. She is a super happy, calm (as long as she is fed and rested!) baby. We are loving every minute of her. There is nothing better than getting a happy smile from Miss Emery Jae (and she gives them out generously!).

For her 6 month 'birthday' Emery got her first taste of cereal. She wasn't such a fan and still isn't! I am still having a hard time getting her to eat it and not spit it out. Don't let that cereal all over her face fool you. None of it went down.

Holiday World

Not sure why we picked the hottest day of the summer to go to Holiday World, but it was just that...the hottest day ever. Really, I'm not exaggerating! Anyway, we still had a great time and Davis loved every second of it...even when he got lost (super scary, by the way. Steve and I were on the verge of panic but thankfully a park worker found him and Aunt Jenny found them. He said he was trying to go 'ride the waves'. Bless his heart, I hope he learned a lesson...probably not!). This kid has no fear of anything. He is super tall and could go on the huge rides and he loved them. I couldn't believe he wasn't scared. He would get off of something and say 'let's go again!' We had a really fun day. Thanks to our great neighbors for inviting us and making it such a fun time.

Davis is still carrying this map around the house and talking about what rides he went on and what rides he wants to go on. He was a great navigator!

Emery Lately

I got out the exersaucer the other day and Emery is loving it...Davis kind of loves it, too! Funny how kids always want to play with the baby toys!

What a pretty girl!

The highchair is Emery's new favorite spot. I think she feels like a part of everything going on in the kitchen.

Random

I've been on a little hiatus from blogging...we have been so busy just enjoying the summer and playing like crazy! But don't worry, I am back! Here are a couple of random pictures, and scroll down if you like for several more posts below.

This is Davis' new trick...Emery was crying and Davis said he was going to go help her. I came upstairs to this...and it worked. She was happy as a clam with Davis in her bed. He is so big, I am pretty sure he is going to break her bed, but I think it is so cute that he wants to be with her.

Davis wanted goggles like his cousins have. He wore them all day for about a week after we bought them. Now, he will just wear them when we are swimming, thankfully! I just love this picture.
