I've been on a little hiatus from blogging...we have been so busy just enjoying the summer and playing like crazy! But don't worry, I am back! Here are a couple of random pictures, and scroll down if you like for several more posts below.

This is Davis' new trick...Emery was crying and Davis said he was going to go help her. I came upstairs to this...and it worked. She was happy as a clam with Davis in her bed. He is so big, I am pretty sure he is going to break her bed, but I think it is so cute that he wants to be with her.

Davis wanted goggles like his cousins have. He wore them all day for about a week after we bought them. Now, he will just wear them when we are swimming, thankfully! I just love this picture.

Independence Day

We had a as good of a 4th of July as we could with Steve gone (working in Atlanta). This was his 2nd year in a row he was gone over the 4th, so I told him he'd better plan differently next year! It was sad to not have him here and I love this holiday, so we tried to celebrate on our own anyway.

I had fun making the kids outfits and I thought they looked pretty darn cute. (although I couldn't get a decent picture of the both of them!).

We had a great time at Keith and Jenny's on Saturday and The White's on Sunday. Davis LOVED the fireworks (we aren't big on fireworks, so this was the first time he has really had them). Good times and good friends. It was a great weekend.

Trip to Atlanta

Steve had a show for work in Atlanta at the end of June/beginning of July and was down there for over 2 weeks. We decided to go down and stay with him for a weekend. I was nervous to drive down with the kids by myself, but it went okay and we had a really fun weekend.

We had to go to a Braves game...we love our baseball around here. Davis lasted about 45 minutes before he was bouncing off the walls-we wanted to stay for the fireworks, but there was no way he was going to make it. We still had a great, hot time!
Emery's first baseball game. Yes, her dress it that wet just from drool. I keep thinking she might get a tooth sometime, but still nothing. She constantly chews on her hands and can fit her entire fist in her mouth.

We had a lot of fun swimming at the hotel's pool. This was Emery's first time swimming and I think she enjoyed herself!

Grandma Comes to Visit

We were lucky enough to have Grandma Larsen come stay in Kentuckiana for almost 2 weeks in June. She was working during the day grading AP English tests and then got to play with all of us at night. It was so great to see her and spend time with her. Here are some of the fun things we did with her.

It wouldn't be a good family get together without a BBQ at Keith and Jenny's. Here are all the Kentuckiana grandkids with Grandma (and yes, that is my son in his underwear...shockingly he peed in his pants and I didn't have any clean ones with me, so that is what you get! He seriously rocks the no pants look.)

We went to waterfront park...this was my first and probably last trip there. Let's just say not super clean and somewhat sketchy. The people watching, however, was terrific. I saw some very interesting things while we were there....I wont' go into details!

They really are 2 little monkeys and they probably should be caged up like this all the time!

4 Months Old!

Emery had her 4 month check up (a couple of weeks ago...). Here are her stats:
Height: 25 inches (70th percentile)
Weight: 12 lbs. 11.5 oz (23rd percentile)
Head: 16.2 inches (49th percentile)
She had grown 3 inches since her last appointment. She is getting long! The week before this checkup she had an ear infection so we had a very sad baby for awhile, then she was finally feeling better and had to get her 4 month shots (see the sad picture below!). Those shots just break my heart every time. She really is such a happy little girl most of the time and smiles at every one. She also learned how to roll over from her back to her stomach last Saturday and now is sleeping on her tummy, no matter what I try to keep her on her back! She really hates being on her stomach, so she is constantly rolling over and then screaming because she is mad she is on her stomach! I was so sad that she started rolling..it means she is getting big and that I can't just put her anywhere I want anymore! I don't want her to grow up.

Our Utah Trip

I downloaded these pictures forever ago and forgot to post them! So, finally here are some pictures of our annual Utah trip. It was SO GREAT to see our family and friends there. What can I say but that we miss you and love you and thanks for helping us have such a great trip and spending time with us!

Our flight was super delayed on the way there and we got stuck in Denver for hours. We ended up getting to Utah about 3am (5am our time) and lets just say it was super fun with the kids! They actually did really well until the very end. We were extra happy to see Utah! Here are the troopers hanging out in the airport:

We saw lots of friends and family and unfortunately I didn't take pictures of everyone, but here are a few that I did take.

The kids with Madelyn and Cordie (the kids of my best friend since 7th grade, Kaylene). They are the sweetest girls and we were so glad they came over!

My great friend, Tammy, her husband Marshall and cutest kids, Emma and new baby Henry. Our kids are really close in age and we are hoping to get a marriage with at least one of them!

My mom is going to kill me for putting this picture on here, but I thought it was so cute that she and Davis fell asleep together on the way to Park City.

Emery with Great Grandpa and Grandma Lindsay (my grandma and grandpa). We were so happy to get to see them and for Emery to meet them.

Our niece Mylee holding Emery. She just turned 8 and was baptized. She is the cutest with the little kids and always helps with them.

These are my great friends, Jen and Camie. We met in our West Valley Ward and I just love these girls and am so grateful for their friendship. I miss them so much!

How did I end up without any pictures of the Hastings or Moons? Sam and Jon were so great to let us stay with them for part of the time and we were so glad to get to spend time with Stacy and Sheldon, too. What a fun trip. We love you all and can't wait to see you again!!

The Finished Kitchen

The kitchen is finally done (it has been for a couple of weeks, but we have been on vacation and so busy I am finally getting around to posting pictures). I am so happy with how it turned out and so proud of us for doing it ourselves! We also had a really small budget (as far as kitchens go) and stuck to it. We were able to do a lot for our money. We painted the cabinets, got granite countertops, new sink and new faucet, built a 'bar' using new cabinets, put in a tile backsplash, put in pendant lights and got new appliances (we already had the fridge). I never imagined it would be such a big project. If anyone is thinking of doing their kitchen, I have lots of tips and things that I learned that can help you, so talk to me first!! I don't think the pictures even do it justice (the cabinets don't look that different in the pictures, but they really is a huge difference). It looks amazing!
