Grandpa and Grandma Wright Visit

My parents came to visit at the end of September. Unfortunately, my mom ended up having to leave early because my Grandpa wasn't doing very well and he ended up passing away before she would have gotten home, so I am so glad that she was able to make it home and be with him before he passed. It was, however, a bummer for us to have her leave early. We tried to make the best of the time that she was here and we had such a great time with them.

Emery loves her Grandpa. She really does have a special smile for him and would get so excited when he held her. It was super cute...and I think he liked it...just a little!

Don't worry Grandma, she loved you too! (by the way, is my mom a supermodel, or what?!)

Utah Trip for Grandpa Lindsay's Funeral

I felt like I took a million pictures while Emery and I were in Utah for my Grandpa's funeral, but when I went to upload them, there just weren't very many...I guess we were only there for about 3 days so that might be why. Anyway, here are a few, mostly of the cutie!

My nephew Grant. Seriously such a cute kid. I love how all his bottom teeth show when he smiles! This was only the second time we have seen him so it was so fun to spend time with him.

Willard Lyman Lindsay

My Grandfather, Willard Lyman Lindsay passed away on September 27, 2010. He was an incredible man and I am so grateful that I was able to attend his funeral and join my family in celebrating his life. It was so great to be able to hear my mom and uncle as well as my grandpa's brother speak about him and I learned a lot of things that I didn't even know about him. I have such great respect for him and he will be greatly missed.

My best friend since 7th grade, Kaylene. She has been adopted into the Lindsay Family for a long time and it was so sweet of her to come to the funeral.

She Can Sit!!

About 2 weeks ago, Emery started sitting up really well. I love that she can sit up, but along with it came the army crawling and I don't think it will be too long before she gets those knees going, too. She is all over the place. She wants to explore everything! We put up the gate at the top of the stairs last week and have had to do a very thorough job of babyproofing. I miss my sweet baby that just sat still on my lap, but it is fun to see her gain some independence and learn by getting around and exploring.

A Big Preschool Boy

This guy has been so excited for school to start. It has been the one and the only thing to motivate his never ending potty training struggle...we've had a good couple of weeks and I am hoping that it continues! He loves his teacher, Ms. Kim (all I hear these days is 'Ms. Kim said ____). His cousin, Josh is in his same class and I think they love being together. He loves eating lunch at school and just seems so big all of the sudden. I was caught by surprise when I shed a few tears dropping him off the first day. I was so excited for him to be able to go and suddenly I felt so sad that he was leaving me! I think he will have a great year. What a big boy!

The last day of summer...

The last day of summer was the perfect excuse to enjoy a big ice cream cone! Lets just say we had to hose him off outside when he was done. Yum!
