OOPS!

I wanted to cut Davis' hair a little shorter (since it is so fun to wrestle him..I mean cut his hair). So I thought I would just go one guard shorter for each spot I do. Anyway, I used a three on the top, fine. Then I did one swipe of the one guard on the bottom and was really sad...it was really really short and I had to buzz his whole head. I just can't get used to and I miss his hair. Okay for a summer time cut, I guess but I really want his hair to grow back. QUICK!

Some Summer (time) Projects

So my wonderful and amazing sister in law that we live basically down the street from had the greatest suggestion of getting together once a week with our other nearby (and equally as amazing!) sister in law and doing crafts/sewing projects during the summer. We have had such a good time and it has gotten me on a major sewing kick. I just can't seem to stop. Last week, Jenny and I sewed all afternoon, went to Young Women's then came back and sewed till 1:30am. Love it. We don't really know how to sew, (at least we don't know how to use a pattern) but we have just been teaching ourselves and using tutorials on-line. They are so great. Exactly what I need-step by step directions and pictures. I thought I would show off some of the things that I have made with the girls and on my own.

These bags were probably one of my favorite projects. Not too hard and SO CUTE!

My mom taught me to make these aprons when I went home this summer. Not a great picture but they are seriously so cute.

This bag was our hardest project so far-this was the 1:30 in the morning project. Pretty intense but I was really happy with how it turned out.

I love Wood Connection in Utah. Miss it! I got the stuff for this clock when I was home this summer.

I still have a bunch of things I am working on and a bunch of things I want to do. Plus, once I find out what this baby is I am going to have to go crazy making baby stuff. Love the sewing bug!

Coming Soon: Larsen Baby #2!!

Well, we are expecting baby #2 and we are super excited! The due date is February 2nd so I am 13 weeks along (thank goodness that nasty 1st trimester is over!!). I went in for my Dr's appointment today and she couldn't find the heartbeat so they did an ultrasound and I wanted to share how cute this baby is! Last month when I went in, it looked like a gummy bear. It just amazes me how they develop and now it actually looks like a baby! I think it looks like the baby is riding a bike...we have been doing a lot of cycling classes so I guess it is used to it already! Quick funny story-I have a friend that I always work out with at 6am and we do spin class together a couple of times a week. We just met at the gym and she is great. So one day we were talking and she mentioned something about her job so I asked her what she does. She said she is an OBGYN so I asked her where and then what her last name was (I only knew her first name). Turns out she is the OB that tons of my friends from my ward go to and I had called to make an appointment with her the day before. Pretty funny. So now we are really good friends! I thought it might be a little weird to go to her since we were already friends, but you know...nothing is sacred when you are having babies, so what's the big deal, right?! She is a great Dr. plus I can ask her questions anytime I want at the gym, too!

Oh, Davis

The other day I was getting ready and Davis was playing in the other room. I realized after a few minutes that it was quiet...too quiet...you know the feeling? I go into the other bathroom and find Davis basking in this:
It was worse than the picture shows...all over the place and I keep finding traces of it around. Fun to clean up. You have to love the toothpaste. Davis is obsessed with it. I really wonder how much of it he ate in this process because he seriously loves it. He can get in the 'child proof'' kid locked drawers in that bathroom for some reason. They must be too loose. Anyway, pretty funny.

This picture, I just thought was cute. We had a bunch of people over I think the day before and I had locked the doors upstairs from the inside so the kids couldn't get in the rooms and make mischief! So supposedly you are supposed to be able to open them with a bobby pin or something but we could not get the door to this bathroom open and finally after a couple days of trying, Keith had to come over and help us (thanks Keith, we are stupid, I know.). So what that had to do with this picture, I have no idea but Steve is trying to get the door open and Davis had found one of his ties and wanted to wear it. I just think he is a cutie patootie.

Larsen Reunion Continued

On the Saturday that Grandma and Grandpa Larsen were here we had a fabulous (as always) cook out over at Jen and Keith's. They got a 'Bonzai' (ginormous blow up water slide/swim pool) for their back yard and let me tell you, it is a hit with the kids. They were out there for over 7 hours without a break playing on that thing. I think that it is an investment that pays for itself. Such a fun day. All of us also got our booties kicked at corn hole (a Kentucky/Indiana game that is pretty much a bean bag toss for adults) by Jen and Keith. Good times. I love getting beat! Davis pilfering soda from discarded cans around the yard. Soda is the one thing I have tried to hold out on with him...I really don't like him to have it and I am even getting away from juice or anything. Anyway, some certain people in the family like to try and sneak it to him when I am not paying attention (I won't mention any names!!) and apparently he is pretty adept at finding it on his own!

Larsen Family Reunion...Sort of.

In June we had a family reunion of sorts with Steve's family. Actually his sister Stacy and her family couldn't make it and Samantha and her family came for part of the week and then his parents for the end of the week. Anyway, we were just glad that they came. We had so much fun with everyone and it was just great to get to spend time together. This was the first time Andrew and Jon had been out here so it was great to have them stay with us. We did lots of fun things. And if we look hot and sweaty in these pictures, its because we were. Seriously so hot. So sweaty. The joy of humidity and summer in Kentucky.

We went to the Louisville Zoo. The kids had a blast and loved posing for their photo-ops. I have never been that hot. Okay, maybe on my mission riding a bike in South America, but it had been awhile. We had fun anyway!

We went to a Cincinnati Reds game one night. It was my favorite thing we did. I am not huge into baseball but there is just something about major league games. They are so much fun. The kids loved it, too and were good the whole time (except for the car ride home). What cute cousins they are.

Steve is always happy if there is baseball involved and Davis is too busy slurping down the snow come aunt Jenny got him to smile for the picture.

We went to Huber Farms on Sam and Jon's last day and when Grandma and Grandpa got here. We got to ride behind the tractor and picked yummy strawberries. Davis broke a jar of jam in the store there and I was super embarrased. They were really nice, but still. A little embarrassing. The best part was the strawberry bread that we bought. Yum.

What a fun time to be together. We are so glad the Hastings and Grandma and Grandpa came to visit!

Our Utah Trip

Here goes the catch up. We went to Utah (yes, at the end of may/beginning of June). We had a fabulous trip. It was our first time back since we moved so it was so fun to see our Family and Friends. We ate out pretty much every day at all our favorite places (cafe rio 7 times in 2 weeks!) and really just enjoyed spending time with everyone. Here are some of the highlights (or the things that I actually remembered to take pictures of!):

My mom had a birthday party for Steve and I since our birthdays are in the same week with both of our families.

This is my new nephew Andrew (Steve sister Samantha and Jon's baby) on his blessing day. I was so glad I got to be there for his blessing.

My cute cousin Rachel was married to Garrit while I was there. I am so glad I was able to be there for their wedding. It was beautiful!

These were my roomates at the 'Cherry House' where I lived after my mission at BYU. Love them! So fun to see them and Michelle's sweet new baby Ruby.

We have some great friends Tammy and Marshall that we were able to see and this is Davis with their little girl Emma. They hugged goodbye! They were really cute together.

We were able to see a lot more people and really enjoyed staying with my parents and Steve's parents. I neglected to take more pictures, of course but we had so much fun with all of our friends too. I especially had a great time with my girls Cami and Jen from our old ward (we had a great girls night out) and Steve had fun golfing with all his buddies. Thanks to everyone who took time to hang out with us. We love you and miss you!
