Christie graduates

We are so proud of our sister-in-law, Christie who graduated from the U of U with her bachelors degree 2 weeks ago (I know, I am a little behind, but I was teasing Micah and Christie that I put a lot more about them on my blog than they do on their own. So maybe they'll step it up!) Christie worked full time, went to school full time and was young womens president all at the same time and I think she is amazing that she survived it all. Micah and Christie left yesterday to move to Texas. It was really hard to say goodbye to them and we miss them already.

Happy Mothers Day!

I just wanted to give our moms a little shout-out in honor of mothers day this week. Not only are they the best moms, they are the best grandma's and Davis loves them as much as Steve and I do.
My mom (Janice) is one of the most amazing people I know...she has overcome so many things in her life and is an example to everyone that it really is possible to get through anything and live a happy and wonderful life. She is the rock of our family and is incredible at showing love and gives so much of herself. I am grateful for her everyday. She also watches Davis while I work (and lots of other times, too!). She is so helpful to me and Davis loves her so much. Thanks to her for taking such great care of him!
Steve's mom (Jill) is an inspiration to us! She is good at everything and is one of the most caring people I know. She has accomplished so much in her life (raising 5 kids, getting her masters degree at 50, losing over 100 pounds etc., etc.), I am just amazed by her. She instantly made me feel like a part of their family and I am so grateful for any time that I get to spend with her. I feel so lucky that we were raised by such wonderful women that have influenced us for so much good. Steve, Davis and I love you both so much! Thank you for all you do and Happy Mother's Day.

Uncle Micah is a Master!

We are so proud of our new BYU masters degree graduate! Micah (my very handsome, awesome brother) received his masters degree in Social Work last Friday from the best school in the state! (I have to add that in whenever I can!) He will be an amazing social worker and we wish him lots of luck in his coming career. His cute wonderful wife Christie graduates from the U tomorrow, pictures of the georgous girl to come!

A couple of side notes...
The Jazz game on Tuesday was painful...please let tomorrow be better. If they lose this series I will lose it !

We have a new American Idol fan in our house-Davis loves to watch...he stands right in front of the TV and dances (the cutest thing ever-he bounces up and down and even sometimes wiggles his bum a little!) I tried to get it on video but he wasn't in the mood at the moment. I'll try again...he has started dancing whenever he hears music. I love it!

Lasik and Random Thoughts

Last Thursday I got lasik...something I have dreamed about and saved for for a long time! I just have to say it is the best. I still have to put a million drops in my eyes a day and sleep with very lovely goggles on for a couple more days, but I am LOVING it. It really is miraculous to me that I can just get up and see. I went running today and didn't have my glasses sliding off my face or didn't have to worry about getting dirt in my contacts. I can't believe it! Technology is the best! It was so easy, too. I thought it would hurt more or bug me more after and it really wasn't a big deal. Amazing. I love my new eyes!

My happy Davis is back! He has been horrible about the last month or so-whining ALL of the time and just unhappy and not very fun to be around. I was so frustrated. Well, his last tooth his has been working on came through last week (he is now the proud owner of 10 teeth) and I think that he is finally feeling better (he cut 4 teeth including 2 bottom molars in the past month or so). HALLELUJAH! I was beginning to think that maybe this was his new personality and was going through terrible twos a few months early, but the last 5 days or so he has been so much better-happy and fun and so cute! I am so grateful. He learns new things every day and is saying new words all the time. For a long time he would say 'yeah' whenever we asked him a question-so agreeable! But, he finally learned to say 'no' and says it all day long!

My brother Micah graduates on Friday with his masters in Social Work from BYU...I am so proud of him and excited for him! Unfortunately for us he and his wife are moving to Texas in a a couple of weeks...I am excited for their new adventure but we are going to miss them like crazy!

My parents 31st wedding anniversary is this week..congratulations to them! They are the best together and I am grateful for their example!

We had a wonderful dinner at Samantha's (Steve's sister) on Sunday to celebrate Jill's (Steve's mom) 54th birthday. Thanks for the great dinner and company, Samantha and Jon. We are so glad that we could be here to celebrate Jill...she is the best and we are so grateful for her. Happy Birthday last week, Jill!

Happy Anniversary to us!

Yesterday, the 15th, was our 3rd wedding anniversary! It seems like longer than 3 years (in a good way!) I can barely remember life before Steve! Seriously, they have been the best 3 years of my life and I look forward to many many more. We had a great anniversary...we made ourselves sick at Rodigio Grill. This beauty below was my present from Steve (its also my mothers day and birthday present!) I just love looking at it on my cupboard (I haven't had time to make anything yet). Thanks babe! Lots of Visitors!

I am a little behind schedule with my posting...first of all, thank you to everyone for your food/feeding suggestions-things have been a little better and I appreciate all the input! So the weekend before last we were so lucky to have my brother Jonah come visit from Colorado, my Grandpa and Grandma Wright from Texas and then on Sunday we celebrated my Grandpa Lindsay's 82nd birthday and they came down from Provo for the dinner. We have such a great family! It was so fun to see everyone and have Davis get to spend some time with them (notice in most of the pictures he is trying to escape or is sitting on my lap...he is a little resistent to people he doesn't know!)

Davis with (his Great) Grandpa and Grandma Wright...this was the first time they had even seen Davis, but unfortunately he wasn't being his friendliest while they were here. I know he was glad to see them, regardless!

Suggestions?

So with all of my days working with kids with autism and doing 'behavioral therapy' I can't figure out how to shape my own child's behavior and it is driving me crazy, or he is driving me crazy or both! My doctor told me at Davis' last appointment that kids are usually really good eaters at this age. Well, Davis is not a good eater as of late, he refuses to eat almost everything that he once loved. The thing that is driving me the most crazy is that he throws all of his food on the floor. I will make him a lovely meal, put it in front of him and within a minute or two he throws it all on the floor. I have tried teaching him to use a fork and spoon, but now he just throws those on the floor, too. So as soon as he starts throwing, I take his tray away. Then he won't eat any of it later on. He is surviving on hardly anything these days. I just am not sure what to do because I really really hate it when he throws his food on the floor, but I also want him to eat. Any suggestions before I give up on meal time altogether?
