Our Utah Trip

I downloaded these pictures forever ago and forgot to post them! So, finally here are some pictures of our annual Utah trip. It was SO GREAT to see our family and friends there. What can I say but that we miss you and love you and thanks for helping us have such a great trip and spending time with us!

Our flight was super delayed on the way there and we got stuck in Denver for hours. We ended up getting to Utah about 3am (5am our time) and lets just say it was super fun with the kids! They actually did really well until the very end. We were extra happy to see Utah! Here are the troopers hanging out in the airport:

We saw lots of friends and family and unfortunately I didn't take pictures of everyone, but here are a few that I did take.

The kids with Madelyn and Cordie (the kids of my best friend since 7th grade, Kaylene). They are the sweetest girls and we were so glad they came over!

My great friend, Tammy, her husband Marshall and cutest kids, Emma and new baby Henry. Our kids are really close in age and we are hoping to get a marriage with at least one of them!

My mom is going to kill me for putting this picture on here, but I thought it was so cute that she and Davis fell asleep together on the way to Park City.

Emery with Great Grandpa and Grandma Lindsay (my grandma and grandpa). We were so happy to get to see them and for Emery to meet them.

Our niece Mylee holding Emery. She just turned 8 and was baptized. She is the cutest with the little kids and always helps with them.

These are my great friends, Jen and Camie. We met in our West Valley Ward and I just love these girls and am so grateful for their friendship. I miss them so much!

How did I end up without any pictures of the Hastings or Moons? Sam and Jon were so great to let us stay with them for part of the time and we were so glad to get to spend time with Stacy and Sheldon, too. What a fun trip. We love you all and can't wait to see you again!!

The Finished Kitchen

The kitchen is finally done (it has been for a couple of weeks, but we have been on vacation and so busy I am finally getting around to posting pictures). I am so happy with how it turned out and so proud of us for doing it ourselves! We also had a really small budget (as far as kitchens go) and stuck to it. We were able to do a lot for our money. We painted the cabinets, got granite countertops, new sink and new faucet, built a 'bar' using new cabinets, put in a tile backsplash, put in pendant lights and got new appliances (we already had the fridge). I never imagined it would be such a big project. If anyone is thinking of doing their kitchen, I have lots of tips and things that I learned that can help you, so talk to me first!! I don't think the pictures even do it justice (the cabinets don't look that different in the pictures, but they really is a huge difference). It looks amazing!

Potty Training

As most of you know, potty training at our house has been slightly challenging. I never guessed it would be so hard to get Davis potty trained. I think he figured out I really wanted him to do it and then there was no way he was going to. I don't know where he gets his strong will (ie: stubborness) from. Must be his Dad. Anyway, he has been doing so much better and has been working really hard. He gets a sticker if he stays dry/clean all day and then he works toward earning a Thomas Train. He was so excited to get the Skarlouie train and we were so proud of him that he earned it!

Happy Birthday to Us

Steve and I celebrated our 33rd and 32nd birthdays a couple of weeks ago. We went on a fabulous trip to Utah over our birthdays (post to come). Sadly, this is the only picture I have from our birthdays-Jenny threw us a little party before we left and these are some cute boys very excited to eat birthday cake. I really need to work on my picture taking!

Wicked!

Steve and Keith took Jenny and I to Wicked for Mothers Day (well, it was our idea and Jenny did all the work and bought the tickets :). I have been wanting to go forever and it was really so great. I have been listening to the soundtrack in my car non stop since we saw it. Thanks to Steve (and Jenny!) for a fabulous mothers day night out!

Still Working...

Okay people, I know you miss me and my posting...or at least I miss posting, but our lives have been completely consumed by our darn kitchen. I am happy to say that we are putting the finishing touches on it this week and we really are almost done. What a project! I am loving the results and really can't believe that we did it ourselves (with lots of consulting from our neighbor, Tyler and Steve's new best friends at the Home Depot!). I am pretty amazed that it actually is turning out as nice as it is. It is kind of scary to experiment on your own kitchen and figure things out as you go, but we have learned a lot (mostly that we don't want to do this again for a really long time!!). I made the mistake of telling Steve I had some ideas for our bathroom and he told me to take a hike and get back to him in 2013! Pictures to come shortly!

Three Months Old!

Emery turned 3 months old yesterday (or last friday if you are counting weeks...whichever!) She is just getting so big so fast. She is doing much better at holding her head up. I put her in the bumbo yesterday and she could do it for a few seconds but then got too tired and her head flopped over! She is sleeping and eating great! I got her on a 4 hour eating schedule last week and I feel like I have 5 more hours in the day! Feeding her every 3 hours was too much! Every 4 I can handle. She is super smiley and when she is rested and fed will smile at everyone. Davis loves it...'she is smiling at me, mom! ' She is very content and will sit and take in her surroundings. I gave her a little haircut yesterday but forgot to take pictures. Her 'old man ring' around the bottom of her head was getting to be too much for me! I didn't cut much so it looks a little better but probably could use some more! We just love this little girl to pieces. Here is a cute picture of 'our princess' as Davis calls her. (sorry I forgot to turn it before I loaded it and now I can't figure out how to).
