Kentucky, Apartments and Houses

First news first...Our house went under contract yesterday! We are so so excited and just praying that it actually goes through. I don't think that I am going to breath until closing. Happy Day! If it really sells life will be so much easier and less stressful! So that is my great news for today!

Davis and I got back from visiting Steve in Kentucky on Tuesday. Davis was really good on the way there but I think that he was possessed by the Devil himself on the way home. I have never been so glad to arrive somewhere. I can not express in words how bad it was! When we got home I had to put him down for a nap and take a few hours to recover although I am still not sure that has happened! I am dreading the next flight in a couple of weeks.

We looked at more houses while I was there and found one that we loved that was willing to do a lease option so we made an offer. However, I don't think this woman watches the news because she was not willing to budge on her price and thinks she is going to make a ton of money on the house. I wish her luck, but she will not be making a ton of money from us! So it was back to the drawing board. By drawing board I mean we went and rented an apartment. I was really disapointed but in the long run I know we will make a much better decision. This way hopefully our house will sell and we will have time to find what we really want at a price we really want and not be pressured by a deadline. I am not too excited about moving twice or having all our stuff in storage or spending Christmas in an apartment, but it definitely is not the end of the world and at least we will be together with Steve again.

Steve gets here the week of Thanksgiving and we are packing up and moving for real that week. It should be interesting. I guess I'd better get packing! Thanks for all the prayers for our house to sell. We are so grateful for them and you!

Happy Halloween!

Okay, sorry about so many pictures but Davis was so stinking cute in his Lion costume I couldn't stop taking pictures and there were so many cute ones to choose from. Plus, this is mostly for Steve since he was kickin it in Kentucky and didn't get to participate in our Halloween festivities. Davis was so much fun...he caught onto the trick or treating (aka if I go up to people and look cute they give me candy) really quickly. If you said candy, he would run to it as quick as he could (he tripped on his tail several times!)! He liked to take the candy and put it in his bag himself. He really was just as cute as could be.

Davis, Mylee and Tyler had so much fun trick or treating in their neighborhood. They were so cute to wait for him and help him up the stairs and make sure he got candy too. What good cousins.

Tomorrow is Halloween...

Today I had a terrible realization...tomorrow is Halloween and I have not done one single thing to get ready for Christmas. I have been so distracted by this whole moving to Kentucky thing that I must have completely lost my mind. I like to be completely ready for Christmas by Halloween. Can you believe I haven't even purchased one gift. This is not good. Like I said, I think I have lost my mind.

Gardner Village

We went to Gardner Village with Andrew, Madeline and Isaac a couple of weeks ago. The kids loved having a picnic and seeing the fun witches. We got a yummy candy apple and went to the petting zoo which was seriously the most disgusting thing ever. I couldn't wait to get out of there...but it was worth seeing the donkey try to eat Davis' head and he just laughed. That kid is not scared of anything! We sure love our neighborhood friends and are going to miss them!

Back From Kentucky

I just got back from Kentucky last night...and would you believe it, I didn't take even one picture! I guess it was less like a vacation and more like a whirl-wind looking at houses trip. I think we looked at about 40 houses (after driving for 2 straight days to get there). It was out of control! It was fun to spend the time with Steve and we had a great time with Jen and Keith and Michelle and Christian and all the kids. It made me excited to get to live by them.

We left Davis with my parents and it was too long to be away from him. The first few days were a nice break but after that I just missed him like crazy and I am not going to leave him for that long again! It was so good to get home to him. He seems older and is saying new words! He decided to stop taking 2 naps while I was gone (I knew it couldn't last forever, but it sure was nice!) so we have moved to the once a dayer. I am going to have to adjust my schedule and how I do things!

We found a couple of houses that we like but we are going to wait and see if anything else comes up and what happens with our house. The house that is #1 on the list is in a great neighborhood and is really cute and a great family house...4 bedrooms, finished basement and fabulous yard. The kitchen, however, is hideous. We aren't sure we are ready to take on a kitchen remodel. We'll have to see how it goes. House hunting is not fun. I hate it! I can't wait till we are just settled and have it all worked out.

Happy Birthday to Great Grandma Lindsay

We got together for dinner at my parents house last Sunday to celebrate Davis' Great Grandma Lindsay's birthday. It was so fun to get to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa and Great Grandma and Grandpa (Davis can't keep track of all the Grandmas and Grandpas when they are all together!). I just thought these were really cute pictures of him with some great people that we really love a lot (and are going to miss so much when we move!).
