Four Years!

Steve and I celebrated our 4th anniversary last week (this is our engagement picture). In a lot of ways, it seems like we have been together for a lot longer than that...it is hard to remember life before Steve! Nor do I really want to! We have had an amazing 4 years and I look forward to many more to come. We had a really fun anniversary. I had this great idea that we should take turns planning what we do every other year. Well, that was a great idea until it was my turn this year and it was really hard for me to come up with something! I still don't really know what there is to do here. Anyway, we did eat at a really really good restaurant that several people had recommended to me and had fun exploring some of down town Louisville and just spending time together. There is no one I would rather be with. Happy Anniversary, Steve. I love you!

Easter

Wow, I am finally posting Easter. I am little behind, I guess. But we did have a really great Easter. Davis had a fun-filled, sugar-filled Easter. That kid loves his candy. I posted this picture first because it was my favorite...This wasn't even his basket. For Easter dinner we had over Jen and Keith, Michelle and Christian and Steve's boss, Aaron and Holly and their families. We had dinner, an Easter egg hunt and lots of fun. I kept finding Davis eating all the candy out of other kids easter baskets. I'm pretty sure he ate about 10 pounds of sugar that day, not to mention the day before.

The kids hunting eggs...our backyard is not the ideal place to 'hide' eggs since it is just big and open so it was more of an egg 'gathering' rather than a hunt but I think they had fun.

Easter morning we had a really rough time before church-Davis was not his best self so I was just happy to get him dressed and out the door. He refused to let me take his picture so this was the best shot I could get. He really looked so cute though dressed in his Easter clothes. Let's just say by the time we got to church I wasn't really feeling the spirit. Doesn't he look happy?!

Our really cute neighbor planned this huge Easter egg hunt/BBQ for our entire street. There were about 50 people there and tons of kids. It was really fun to get to know some of our neighbors better and meet new people. Davis really got the idea of egg hunting this year except it was hard to get him to not open the eggs and eat the candy inbetween collecting.

Davis was the littlest kid to hit the pinata so he went first. He loved it and the crowd thought it hilarious. He put on a good show.

What a fun weekend and so wonderful to celebrate our Savior's ressurection and remember him.

Daddy's helper

Davis' favorite new thing to do on Saturdays is 'help' Steve out in the yard. It really is the cutest thing ever. He follows him around the yard while he mows the lawn and helps him dump the grass into the trash can. It keeps him occupied for a long time and I love it because I can get things done inside while Steve actually gets things done, too!

Troublemaker

I made popcorn yesterday to make into caramel popcorn for a treat (we were having a girls movie night while the guys were at priesthood meeting). Well, I come back a few minutes later to find this. Davis having a hayday with the popcorn all over the kitchen. I thought it was cute he was pouring it into his hat. Got to love the creative messes.

Our little visitors

My sister in law (from who I am blessed to live about 2 miles away from) has been on a trip to Utah this last week with John and Sam, her oldest 2 kids. Her husband, Keith stayed here with the younger 2 kids, Eva and Josh so we have been having so much fun with them while their Dad is at work and we have even had a few 'slumber parties' as Eva calls them. I have learned that while I don't think I am quite ready for 3 really young kids, I can handle it (I think)...as long as I don't go to the store with all of them or try to give all 3 a bath at the same time. That is still a little beyond me. Davis has had so much fun having them around. The first thing he does in the morning is get up and ask for Josh and Eva. He really loves his cousins.
Our playroom is still a disaster but I am so glad that we have the space for them to play.

Eva and I made homeade playdoh and she thought it was just great to put in the ingredients. She is such a good girl and I have loved having a little girl around..so different than boys!

Thank goodness for Spring weather and that the kids could play outside. They love it and so do I! We love our big back yard.

We are going to miss our little visitors when their mom comes home.

Loves the Camera

Lately whenever Davis sees my camera, he brings it to me and says 'picture mommy'. That's why I took these pictures and they turned out cute! He loves to say 'cheese'. I love my happy boy!

Neighbor Etiquette

So we have lived in our house for over a month now and not one neighbor had come to introduce themselves or welcome us to the neighborhood. Granted, it has been really cold and nobody has been outside so I will give them a pass on that one. Anyway, I think it is super important to know your neighbors...safety wise and I just think community is a big deal and I want to be a part of one! Since I have never lived outside of Utah, this is a new experience for me (in Utah a lot of our neighbors were LDS so we got to know them at church) and I really want to know the people that live around us.

I think that when you are new in the neighborhood, people should come to meet and welcome you. Maybe that is an incorrect assumption, but I think it is polite. Now, since nobody came to us, we decided to make cookies and take them around and meet our neighbors. It actually was really nice to meet people and I am glad that we did it. I think it made some of them feel kind of bad that they hadn't come over which wasn't really my intention. I guess I was just suprised because I have noticed that people in Louisville are very friendly (everyone talks to you everywhere you go like you are best friends!) so I thought people would be more friendly neighbors. I just thought this was interesting and will help me remember to be a good neighbor and to make sure that I welcome new people when they move in.
