Curiosity

Our neighbors put in a swimming pool (and yes, this does make me VERY nervous as that little fence you see is the only fence around it). Davis stood on the fence like this for about 3 hours one day (no exaggeration) watching them work and dig the hole. He couldn't get enough and I would hear him talking to the workers and asking them what they were doing now. It probably drove them crazy, but hey, free entertainment for a four year old? I wasn't going to interrupt him! I loved how curious and enthralled he was with the whole thing.

It's a Baby...

Girl!!!

Yep, we are having a baby girl due February 3rd. I have to say I am pretty excited it's a girl...so happy Emery will have a sister and they will be exactly 2 years apart (well, hopefully they won't have the same birthday). I am already getting antsy for her to get here...lets just say pregnancy isn't my favorite thing...but all worth it in the end. I had Steve scan these ultrasound pictures for me at work because I am computer impaired, so the format didn't come out great, but here are some shots of our pretty girl!

Davis' second first day of preschool

Davis started his second year of preschool last week. I think we were both mutually happy for school to start again! He loves it and I love the routine and structure it gives our life. Davis is a kid on the go and wants to be doing something every second of every day! So, school is a great for him! He had a fabulous first week and learned all about germs and even did his first 'science experiment' about germs. He has been washing his hands vigorously all week! He is in the same class as his cousin Josh as well as two little girls from our ward. It is a bible preschool at The Church of Christ. I was telling Steve how his teacher talked about how they focus on a bible story every day. Steve said I should ask Ms. Cindy since 2/3 of the class are Mormon can she focus on a Book of Mormon story every other day? I thought that was pretty funny. He has a point!


His teacher this year is Ms. Cindy and he already loves her. I am looking forward to a year full of Ms. Cindy said ____ and Ms. Cindy this and Ms. Cindy that!

Steve's First Triathalon

Steve did his first triathalon (I think it was longer than a sprint but shorter than a full...I don't know what it's called?!) at the beginning of August. He worked really hard to get ready for it and it was fun to see him finish...I will admit I didn't drag the kids there at 6:30am on a Saturday to watch the entire thing and I did feel bad since he is always so amazing in supporting me in races... but I still think he is incredible!!

Wright Family Florida Trip

We took an amazing trip to Destin, Florida at the end of August with my family (minus my brother Jonah...we missed you!!). It was a much needed getaway and we enjoyed every minute of the white sand, clear ocean water, and of course wonderful company. We rented a beach house and had such a good time. I can't wait to go again next year.

The Wright clan...


Davis spent many many hours at the beach digging in the sand and riding waves. He had the sunburn and even the sunburned eyes to prove it. Lets just say he slept really well at night after wearing himself out all day. It was fun to watch him enjoy new surroundings. If we weren't at the beach he was begging us to go!

We rented a jet ski one morning and it was so much fun to ride them in the ocean. Too bad there were thousands of jelly fish out there so we couldn't throw each other off! I almost got Steve off at least once. We had a blast.

This is how Emery spent a good majority of the time on the beach...screaming her head off. She seriously hated it. She got better every day, but the first day she cried the entire time. Hopefully next year she will enjoy herself more!

One evening we had pizza at the beach and then played until it got super dark. It was so beautiful that time of evening.

The Moons Visit

The Moons came to visit us at the end of July (yes, I am a bit behind on my blogging, I know!). It was so fun to have them here...so fun in fact, I must have been enjoying myself too much to take pictures because these are all I have! We had a great weekend with them and are so glad they would make the drive from their new home in Iowa to visit us. We are glad they are a little closer now!

Emery and Mylee. I can't believe how grown up Mylee is. She is an amazing tumbler and was doing flips all over our back yard. She is also so great with the kids and played a lot with Emery.

Emery wore these glasses around for a couple of weeks non stop. I mean she looks good and she knows it!
