Conference Weekend

We had such a nice conference weekend. I love how motivated and uplifted I feel after listening to our prophet and leaders. I feel like there is so much more I can be doing, but at the same time just a comfort to be a member of our church and how grateful I am to have the gospel in my life and my family's life. It is who we are. I love that. The weather was beautiful this weekend. I needed it! I have major spring fever and have just been dying for good weather. I felt like I couldn't take one more day of being cold and cooped up in my house. We went outside every minute we could between sessions and it was fabulous. I had an amazing run yesterday with perfect weather (I didn't realize how warm it was going to be and wore leggings under my running pants and a long sleeve shirt and jacket...I had to find a bathroom at the park and strip down and take off all my extra clothes because I was so hot. Felt pretty silly but I was glad there was a bathroom nearby!). It was so nice to spend so much time with Steve this weekend. I can't remember the last time we were able to be together so much! The kids just love it when he is home, too. They can't get enough of him. Snapped a couple of pictures of the kids enjoying the sunshine after we put out our patio furtniture. Emery is a little white trash with no bottoms (she pooped on them of course) and you can kind of see the big rug burn Davis has on the side of his head from a fall he had in the hallway at school on Friday (he was running in the hall and tripped). He looks pretty beat up! I just love Emery's expression (or dirty look...call it what you will) in the last picture.

We have spring break this week so hopefully we will have some more good weather so we can get outside and enjoy our week off of school and activities. We are planning on camping this weekend. Yes, you heard me right, we are actually going to sleep in a tent. It's going to be big for the Larsens. That doesn't happen very often!

St Patrick's Day

I am a lover of holidays, but I have to wonder...what do we even celebrate this day? I guess the kids think its fun? Davis had a great time at school searching for the pot of gold. I was a slacker at home and didn't do much but I made some really cute shirts for the kids...that didn't turn out so well. All the glitter fell off and by the end of the day (okay, 2 hours after they put them on) were totally ruined. I hate a failed project, but that is how it goes, I guess.

Shopping and Great Friends

Some great friends and I went up to Cincinnati a couple of weekends ago and did some serious girl time and some serious shopping. It was just so fun. We found amazing deals and it was just nice to be away for a little bit. I just love coming home feeling uplifted and refreshed. Thanks for a great weekend ladies!

Tired

We came upstairs a few weekends ago to go to bed and I went to check on the kids and Davis wasn't in his bed. So, I went on a little treasure hunt and this was were I found him (mostly under our bed). Funny kid. That can't be comfortable, can it?

Tubes and Stuff

Little Miss Emery had to get tubes put in her ears on Friday. She has had ear infections for about 3 months straight and the antibiotics haven't even touched it. I was happy that she was able to get them and I think today she already seemed better than she has been. I was a little anxious about the whole thing-I know it is a really routine procedure but it is always scary to have your child go under anesthesia. She did great and didn't freak out after like everyone warned me she probably would so I was glad about that. She was a little trooper.

PS, she is almost walking...she can take about 5 to 6 steps. I haven't been able to catch it on camera yet-everytime I get it out she won't walk! In other news...well, I can't think of much...we have enjoyed BYU's run and Jimmer mania. It was sad to see it end this week but we have loved watching them (and actually getting the games out here on TV!!). Love those Cougars. Davis started playing soccer 2 weeks ago with his cousins Josh and Eva and has been super excited about it. That was until we were late last week and I think he felt embarrassed to go in after they had already started and he woud not go onto the field. After trying to convince him, threaten him and numerous other tactics, I finally got him to go after I walked all the way back to the car and told him we were never coming back if we left (yes, good parenting, I know. It was not my finest moment). He finally realized I was serious and went and played. Needless to say, we will not be late again. Ahhh, the finer moments of parenting. Steve is still working a lot, but got some people hired for his Atlanta office so hopefully that will help his workload lighten a little..one can hope, right?! I am just running alot. I feel like that is all I do these days! I have 4 more long runs until my marathon. Yesterday's run was 18 miles and it actually went really well so I am feeling encouraged that I might be able to pull this marathon thing off.

A few random pictures

So Steve has been traveling and super busy lately so the kids and I have been hanging out and enjoying our time together and praying for spring (the real spring, not just teasers)! Here are some random pictures as of late...

This is is what happens when a certain little girl doesn't want to learn how to walk so when we are at ChuckECheese and there is no way her mom is going to let her crawl on the disease infested floors she has to sit in the high chair the entire time. Lets just say I am ready for her to walk...

While Steve was gone this last week I built these book shelves all by myself!! It was my first 'building' project that I did without any help. Really proud of myself if you can't tell. Davis loves them and they are such a fun addition to his room.

Emery is obsessed with toothbrushes. No toothbrush is safe in this house. We still haven't replaced the drawer locks since our bathroom remodel and all she does is empty the drawers and find the toothbrushes. Gross I have to say.

I just thought this picture was cute, crazy hairbows and all.

Davis calls this a pillow party. He takes all of the pillows from the couches and surrounds Emery and her toys with them then they play in there. So cute to see them playing together.

Grandpa and Grandma Larsen visit and Jenny's birthday

Steve's parents came to visit good old Kentuckiana a couple of weeks ago and amazingly I did not get one shot of Grandma. I don't know how that happened. Hopefully she know that we love her anyway:)

It happened to be Jenny's birthday the same weekend so we had a little celebration with everyone. So fun to have so much of our family together. We are so blessed to live here!
