The Larsen Family Cabin

We spent this last weekend at the Larsen Family Cabin and we had such a good time. Historically the cabin has not been my favorite place to go (last time I went I was pregnant and there is only an outhouse, the road to get there is really rough, it was really hot and there were a lot of bugs)...however this trip was much better and I really enjoyed it. The cabin is sort of by Richfield and they have a lot of land up on the mountain so you don't see anyone else the entire time you are there. It is absolutely beautiful and was so fun to spend time together. We went hiking, played lots of cards, played baseball, badmitton and horseshoes and just had a really great time hanging out together. Davis loved the freedom of being able to fun around wherever he wanted and to just play in the dirt! Thanks for a great weekend, Larsens! We love you and love spending time with you!

Summer Time Catch up!

We have been having such a fun summer and it seems like I haven't had a spare moment to blog about it so I am going to do some catch up in this post. I have been working one day a week doing summer school and the rest of the days we have been playing as hard as we can in between doing some projects/clean out around the house.

Swimming and Fun in the Sun

One of Davis' favorite things to do is play in his little pool in the back yard. He will go down the slide into the pool thousands of times without getting bored! Its nice to find something that will occupy him! We have been going to the Kearns Fitness Center Pool with friends and cousins, but it is big and crowded and although fun, I think he prefers the back yard!

The Fourth of July

I can't believe this is the only picture I took the whole weekend of the fourth...sometimes I just forget! (Davis wouldn't stay in the picture so I had to sit with him in it). Anyway, we had a great weekend at the Black Family (Steve's mom's family) reunion. Davis had a great time playing with all the cousins, we had and outdoor movie, a great picnic, and we opted to go sleep at Grandma's house instead of camp out in Great-Grandma's back yard (we slept great, in beds!). We also had a BBQ with my parents the evening of the fourth. So nice to spend the weekend with our family and celebrate our country, our freedom and all the blessings we enjoy that come from it.

Ward Activity

I am the ward activity chair in our ward and I barely survived our summer activity. It is a big job, and I was so glad when it was over and glad that I can have a month off or so before I have to think about the next one. The activity went really well and I think everyone had a good time (at least I hope so!). The bounce house was Davis' favorite part!

Lovin Music!

Davis is in love with our ipods! We were 'swimming' in the back yard on Saturday a couple of weeks ago when Steve was home and Davis discovered what those head phones are all about. Now he always wants to listen to our ipods! He was being fussy in the car the other day and I let him listen to my ipod and he was good and listened for like 20 minutes!

Grandma's Birthday

We had a picnic for Grandma Wright's birthday and Davis was loving the attention and love from his grandparents!

Independence!

Davis has gotten really good at eating with a fork or spoon all by himself. He does not like to be fed and insists on eating his food by himself. Lets just say that the spaghetti is a little messy and hard to get on the fork, but he does great getting it all over his face, lap and the floor!

Unfortunately I don't have very many recent pictures, due to being a slacker and due to the fact that we haven't done much exciting lately! But here are some cute ones from fathers day at the Larsen's.

I absolutely love this picture of Davis. Is he the cutest or what? What a happy guy!
I was teaching my niece, Mylee to take pictures and this was her second one. Pretty good! I think she may have a future in photography!

As soon as I stop pushing, Davis signs more more more. He can't get enough of the swing.Davis LOVES to play with Mylee and Tyler and he LOVES their new swing set. The first time he played on it, I was sure we were going to end up in the emergency room because he has no fear and thinks that he is one of the big kids. He has gotten pretty good at climbing up the climbing wall and FLYING down the slide. Mylee and Tyler are very nice to Davis and even get him pillows to land on when he goes down the slide. They like to 'babysit' him as they say when they play in the backyard.

Father's Day

So like I said I am behind schedule with everything...we had a really nice fathers day and got to see both of our dads. I think they make a handsome bunch of guys! I am so grateful for our Dads (two truly amazing men) and I am especially grateful for what a great dad Steve is.

Long Time, No Post

School got out a week and a half ago, but it seems like life has been anything but leisurely, as a summer vacation should be. We have just been so busy...We decided to paint most of our house and as it always seems to turn out to be a bigger project than you think it will be. It took us a whole week and I did most of the kitchen by myself (with the help of my great mom to primer). So we finally finished and the next day realized that the last gallon we had gotten to go over everything one more time and do touch ups was a darker color so it isn't looking too great. We're not sure what to do. Anyway, I was also in charge of a closing social for work, then a BBQ for our neighborhood HOA on Saturday and I am the activities chair for our ward and I have a big 'luau' ward activity coming up this Saturday. Enough already. I just want to have nothing to do and sit by the pool (yeah right, like Davis lets me 'sit' anywhere!). So, those are my excuses for being a slacker blogger!

I turned 30 and survived!

30 seems younger all the time! I had a great golden (30 on the 30th) birthday thanks to my wonderful husband! Can you believe we didn't take one picture? That's what happens when I am not manning the camera! My mom watched Davis all day. We went shopping in Park City, saw the new Narnia movie and then went to dinner at Tepanyaki (yum!). The next day, Steve threw me a big party-he didn't let me help with anything and did all the food and inviting and everything else himself. It was great. Thanks to everyone who came! It was so fun to see everyone and spend time with my friends and family. I guess I am officially no longer youthful, but I am going to enjoy every minute of being 30 anyway!
