Wright Family Florida Trip

We took an amazing trip to Destin, Florida at the end of August with my family (minus my brother Jonah...we missed you!!). It was a much needed getaway and we enjoyed every minute of the white sand, clear ocean water, and of course wonderful company. We rented a beach house and had such a good time. I can't wait to go again next year.

The Wright clan...


Davis spent many many hours at the beach digging in the sand and riding waves. He had the sunburn and even the sunburned eyes to prove it. Lets just say he slept really well at night after wearing himself out all day. It was fun to watch him enjoy new surroundings. If we weren't at the beach he was begging us to go!

We rented a jet ski one morning and it was so much fun to ride them in the ocean. Too bad there were thousands of jelly fish out there so we couldn't throw each other off! I almost got Steve off at least once. We had a blast.

This is how Emery spent a good majority of the time on the beach...screaming her head off. She seriously hated it. She got better every day, but the first day she cried the entire time. Hopefully next year she will enjoy herself more!

One evening we had pizza at the beach and then played until it got super dark. It was so beautiful that time of evening.

The Moons Visit

The Moons came to visit us at the end of July (yes, I am a bit behind on my blogging, I know!). It was so fun to have them here...so fun in fact, I must have been enjoying myself too much to take pictures because these are all I have! We had a great weekend with them and are so glad they would make the drive from their new home in Iowa to visit us. We are glad they are a little closer now!

Emery and Mylee. I can't believe how grown up Mylee is. She is an amazing tumbler and was doing flips all over our back yard. She is also so great with the kids and played a lot with Emery.

Emery wore these glasses around for a couple of weeks non stop. I mean she looks good and she knows it!

Donut Falls

Davis loved the mountains and kept asking to go every day, so we went with my parents up to Donut Falls. We didn't actually make it to the falls-Emery was being a stink and wouldn't let anyone but me hold her and so I had to carry her all the way up and I pooped out before we made it! But Davis loved every second of hiking. It is so beautiful up the canyon and the weather was amazing, too.

My mom helped Davis make these 'binoculars' out of toilet paper rolls. We have a picture with my me and my brothers when we were little in the canyon with the same binoculars we had made.

Cousin Time

It was so fun to spend time with the cousins, Andrew and Alivia and of course, Aunt Sammie and Uncle John. We had a fun morning at the splash park (forgot to take pictures) and here is the aftermath...Davis was tired of getting his picture taken, I guess.

Poor Alivia got a little too much love from Emery. I am pretty sure she got some tongue in there. It was so cute...Emery just kept going back for more and Alivia didn't seem to mind...too much!

We were headed to the zoo with the cousins but it was a rainy morning so we went to Discovery Gateway instead. Everyone else had the same idea I guess because it was packed. We still had fun...the only pictures I got were of Davis...

BYU!!

I decided had better start working on my BYU indoctrination with Davis. This was an especially good opportunity since the UofU fan in our family was not present. So we went to visit Grandma Larsen who teaches at BYU on campus and had a great time reliving my glory days. I just love being there. I think Davis had a good time, too. I am doing a pretty good job of turning him into a Cougar fan.

I think the kids favorite part of campus was this bed they found in the restroom. Whatever makes them happy, right?
Davis got so excited as soon as he could see the 'Y' on the mountain when we drove into Provo.
We got to eat lunch at the Cougareat with Grandma. Those are some cute little Cougar fans! Davis also got a new BYU shirt which he wears very proudly!

Visiting Fun

We had such a fun time visiting family and friends while we were in Utah. I told Steve it was one of my favorite trips I have taken because he wasn't there! Now don't get me wrong, we missed him like crazy and wished he could have been there with us, but it was so fun to be able to do whatever I wanted and be able to visit all of my friends and family and not worry about what he wanted to do! Totally selfish, I know, but it really was great!

We went to a really fun kids place called Pirates Cove in Provo with my Grandma Lindsay. The kids loved it and it was so fun to spend time with her. She also got a new little puppy named Molly and the kids LOVED playing with her!


We had a chance to stop by and see Grandpa and Grandma Black (Steve's grandparents). We always love seeing them!
I was so happy to get together with a few of my favorite EFY friends. We were able to meet up at Julie Kaye's mom's house and can I just say it is kid heaven in her back yard? They have a club house, trampoline, water everything and a zip line. Davis went on this thing about 50 times and I had to bribe him to leave. So much fun!
I forgot to take a picture before Heather left, but here is Julie Kaye, Sharon, Fernando and I. These are just some of my favorite people and it had been way too long since I had seen them. I am so happy they took time to get together with us!

I was able to go see my college (freshman, sophmore, and junior years) roomate, Tepoe. This girl and I had so many good times together...our third year of school we moved into a house where we got our own rooms but we would end up sleeping on the floor of each others room because we couldn't sleep by ourselves anymore! She just had her fourth child, Maire, and it was so fun to see her!
My best friend from High School (or should I say surrogate sister?) came over one night. She just had her third daughter, Mckenzie and I was so happy to meet her. The girls had a great time making lego crowns and playing together. Here is Princess Emery and Princess Maddie:

Emery, Maddie, Mckenzie and Cordie. Apparently Davis was being anti-girl this night. I looked really ugly in the picture of Kaylene and I so I am not posting it. But I love her like crazy!

This is a picture of my roomates and a couple girls that we were great friends with from the Cherry House (where I lived at BYU after my mission). Michelle, Terry and I were all speech path majors and spent most of our waking hours together either in class or living at the Cherry House together. We were super lucky to live with Karen too, who put up with us 'speechies'. I loved living with these girls and it was so great to see all of them.
