Davis graduates from preschool...the first time!

Davis had his preschool graduation a few weeks ago, but I guess he graduating from the first year of preschool to the second? Anyway...it was fun to see him perform on stage and interact with his classmates. He has loved loved loved school this year. He asked me almost every morning if he could go to school that day and hated it when school was out. It was so fun to see how much he learned this year. He just seems so grown up!

Failed Photo Shoot

While I was in Texas, Christie and I had this brilliant idea to take cute pictures of the kids and frame one to send to my mom for Mother's Day. Well, it was a good idea but lets just say we didn't have a lot of cooperation from the kids. Grant would not even sit down or stand by Davis and Emery. It was pretty comical. We tried bribery and everything else we could think of. We did get him to sit down one time but he was screaming his head off the whole 5 seconds. Good times. Needless to say, we didn't get any pictures for Grandma. It did make me appreciate the fact that Davis is getting older and actually follows directions once in awhile. He was great! Thought I would show you the not so good pictures! They are still cute, even when they aren't cooperating!

Visiting TEXAS!

Steve had a show in Fort Worth Texas at the beginning of May. Since my brother Micah and his family live there as well as my Grandpa and Grandma and Aunt Janice and her family, we decided to make a road trip of it and tag along. We had such a fun trip and it was so good to see everyone. I can't believe that I didn't get one picture of the adults...we must have been having too much fun! The kids had so much fun playing with Grant and were best friends with their aunt and uncle by the time we left. Thanks so much for having us, Micah and Christie! We always look forward to spending time with you guys!

We got to visit Great Grandma and Grandpa Wright. I am so glad that Emery got to meet them and that my kids were able to spend time with them. They are the best!

We were able to visit our great friends, The Lintons, who recently moved to Dallas. Freeman was my neighbor at Turnberry when I was a grad student at the U and Michelle and I were in the MTC together and then we both lived at Turnberry, too. Steve moved in with Freeman and he really was the one who introduced us. Freeman and Michelle ended up gettting married a few months before Steve and I did and it was so fun that we were all dating at the same time. It was so much fun to see them and catch up and be around their beautiful kids.

I did it! 26.2 miles at the Kentucky Derby Marathon. It was my first marathon and it was such a great experience. I have run several half marathons but just really didn't think I could do a full. It just seemed impossible to me. I was so anxious and was even standing there waiting for the race to start thinking what I am doing here? This is CRAZY! Well, it was crazy but it was actually really fun and I enjoyed the whole thing! Plus, it was so cool to run through our city-lots of places I had never been. My favorite part was running through Churchill Downs. There is something so satisfying to me in taking on a huge challenge and working really hard to accomplish it. It made me feel like I can do anything! I can't wait to do another one!

Jenny and Traci ran the mini marathon and I was so grateful to be able to go to the race with them and get ready together.

I had Davis run the last little section of the race and cross the finish line with me. He did a great job and kept telling me 'I helped you run fast, Mom! We won the race!'.

Tired and happy to be done! These guys were such a great support team...not only during the race but during all the training, too. I couldn't have done it without Steve's support and making sure I could always get out to do my training runs. What can I say? He's the best!

Soccer

Davis just finished his first round of soccer. He got to play with his cousins Josh and Eva and they had a great time...and it was pretty fun for me to get to hang out with Jenny while they played every week! A win win!

These kids crack me up together. Let's just say the Larsens do not lack in the personality department.

Happy Easter

Easter morning, checking out what the Easter Bunny brought. Sadly, these are the only pictures I got of the kids in their Easter clothes. We were in a hurry to get to church and by the time we got home they were a mess! I need to dress them up again and take some good pictures.

We had a fun dinner with our family on Easter night. The weather was rainy (not shocking since it rained practically every day for a month) so we had to hunt Easter eggs inside. Somehow not as fun, but candy is candy, right?

Thunder Over Louisville

Probably the biggest event in Louisville is 'Thunder Over Louisville' which is the kickoff to derby season. It is a huge fireworks show over the Ohio River. They shoot the fireworks off of the 2nd street bridge. It is a really fun event, especially because everyone here gets so excited about it! It is amazing how many people go. This was a our first year going to Thunder. Our friend Blaine is an attorney and his office overlooks the river so they (The Bloods) invited us to come watch Thunder from his office. It was so much fun to be up there with such great friends and not have to fight the crowds outside! It really was the most amazing fireworks show I have ever seen.
